February Vacation Art Workshop for Kids!

Paint a Winter Landscape
Wednesday, February 17, 10:30 - 12:00 or 1:30 - 3:00
Reservations required: $12 per child/ $10 members.

After an eye-spy tour of the galleries, participants will use 14x18 canvas boards, palettes, brushes, and acrylic paints to create their own supersize landscape paintings. Designed for children ages 7-11.

Gyotaku: Fish Printing Workshop
Thursday, February 18, 10:30 - 12:00 or 1:30 - 3:00
Reservations required: $12 per child/ $10 members.

After completing a scavenger hunt in the galleries, participants will learn about the Japanese art of Gyotaku (printing with fish). Using a variety of rubber fish species, block printing inks, and paper, participants will design and create their own unique prints, note cards, and sheets of wrapping paper. Designed for children ages 7-11.

3-D Sculpting Workshop
Friday, February 19, 10:30 - 12:00 or 1:30 - 3:00
Reservations required: $12 per child/ $10 members

After an artistic hide n’ seek tour of the museum galleries, participants will design and create two different sculptures. Using paper, felt, and cloth, participants will build their own snowman and then use clay and wire to sculpt a creature of their own creation. Designed for children ages 7-11.
