Program Details
Thursday, March 24, 5:30pm
The John Clark & Ian Frenkel Duo
Enjoy a splendid evening featuring jazz selections from the American Popular Songbook with a special emphasis on music of the 1920’s and 30’s – Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Benny Goodman and Fats Waller.
Thursday, April 14, 5:30pm
Old Lyme Inn Trio
This piano trio, led from the drums by Ken Kitchings, includes Steve Donovan at piano and Mike Assetta on bass, and is well known along the shoreline for their smooth and energetic improvisations on the American Songbook repertoire. As the “house band” of the Old Lyme Inn, they are frequent collaborators with the extraordinary musicians who perform at “The Side Door” and take the stage themselves from time to time at that now famous destination.
Thursday, April 21, 5:30pm
Phred & Friends Jazz Quartet
Phred Mileski has been described as “one of New England’s finest song stylists.” Her astonishing vocal range, engaging stage presence, and interpretations of jazz standards (and some not-so-standards) have earned her critical acclaim and airplay in the U.S. as well as Europe. A shameless genre-jumper, she can be found performing in many different bands around southeastern Connecticut.
Thursday, May 26, 5:30pm
Almost Blue
Almost Blue is a jazz duo featuring the vocal talent of Heather James with John Mailloux accompanying on piano and guitar. Heather is a recording studio session vocalist and John is a two-time Grammy nominated mastering engineer. After working together for many years they decided to team up and perform the music they love. Their repertoire includes jazz standards by such artists as Billy Holiday, Sarah Vaughn and Nina Simone.
The admission fee is $15 per concert for members / $20 per concert for non-members. Reservations are required. Please contact the Museum at 860-443-2545 ext.129.
