Music has become a constant companion to our daily lives. There is no escaping it. In elevators, in waiting rooms, in restaurants, and through our ear buds, our lives are lived with a sound track as background noise. Visual artists are no different than the rest of us as it is not unusual for them to have music playing in their studios as they create, but some artists have embraced the challenge of making it the core of their creative process by turning the music into visual manifestations. Through the artists’ explorations, On Another Note: The Intersection of Art and Music hopes to broaden the viewer’s perception of how music can inspire the making of art as well as to open them to the vast variety of ways in which it can be made visual.
