Lyman Allyn Art Museum is located at 625 Williams Street in New London, CT, about three miles north of the downtown historic waterfront district.

Parking

Free onsite parking is available for all visitors, located in front of the Museum. Accessible parking is available at the Museum’s side entrance. 

Directions

From I-95 North, take exit 83. Drive to the traffic light at the end of the ramp, then turn left onto Williams Street. Drive seven tenths of a mile, pass one traffic light, and the Museum driveway is on the right.

From I-95 South, take exit 83 (Frontage Road). Take Briggs Street / Coast Guard Academy exit (this is a right hand exit). At the traffic light, turn left onto Briggs Street. At the second traffic light, turn left onto Williams Street. Drive two tenths of a mile and the Museum driveway is on the right.

Take Route 32 to New London, Pass Connecticut College, bear right onto the New Haven exit ramp. At the stop sign, turn right onto Briggs Street. At the second stop sign, turn left onto Williams Street. Drive one tenth of a mile and the Museum driveway is on the right.

Drive North on Huntington Street. At the Williams Street traffic light, turn right onto Williams Street. Drive seven tenths of a mile and the Museum driveway is on the right. 

The Lyman Allyn is near Bus Routes 1 and 14 for the Southeast Area Transit District. The nearest stop is the cross streets of Williams Street and Briggs Street. After exiting the bus, continue walking up Williams Street, passing the Deshon-Allyn House, and turn down the Museum’s driveway on the right.

There is a New London Bikeway Route that travels along Williams Street. After proceeding down our driveway, guests are welcome to lock their bikes on the Museum’s side porch by our Staff and Accessible parking lot. New bike racks will be installed with Lyman Allyn Park.

The Lyman Allyn is about 1.5 miles, or roughly 35 minute walk, from Downtown New London. The Museum is an easy walking distance from the Hodges Square and Soldiers Hill neighborhoods. Outdoor enthusiasts might enjoy traversing green spaces between Riverside Park, the soon to come Lyman Allyn Park, and the Connecticut College Arboretum
